The Rail Land Development Authority (RLDA) has invited bids on land near the Bagdogra Railway Station in Siliguri, West Bengal for the residential and commercial development of the land measuring 22,182 square meters of the total plot area. The reserve price of the land is ₹73 crore and it will be leased out for a period of 99 years.
The RLDA is also allowing e-bids to be placed with the deadline for submitting e-bids being February 14, 2023.
Many local and national level developers have shown keen interest and participated in the online pre-bid meeting that was held on January 4, 2023.
The site the land is located in an urban area close to the Bagdogra Airport in Siliguri and is situated close to many tourist places in Darjeeling. The site is bounded by the Purnea-Siliguri road on the north, and the Bagdogra Railway Station area on the south, while the RFP (Railway Protection Force) area is situated on the East side of the proposed land.
“The land parcel is very near to the centre of Siliguri and a lot of new townships have already been developed near the vicinity. Its strategic location will provide ample opportunity for the development of this land parcel.
The land parcel is adjacent to the Bagdogra Railway Station and only 2.8 kilometres from Bagdogra Airport, thus catering to all transit passengers as well as to the commercial hub of Siliguri,” stated Ved Parkash Dudeja, the Vice-Chairman of RLDA.
The Rail Land Development Authority (RLDA) is a statutory body under the Indian Ministry of Railways which was set up for the development of vacant railway land and has four key functions which include leasing commercial sites, colony redevelopment, station redevelopment, and multi-functional complexes. The RLDA has leased out 22 sites in various different states of India during the ongoing fiscal year of 2022-23.
